BRS achieve ISO 9001 certification
When the Covid-19 lockdown commenced, we decided to use the time positively and to get to work on one of our goals for 2020 – ISO 9001 certification. Despite the lockdown, it has actually been quite a busy time for us and our office team have worked really hard to adapt.
With the ISO audits booked in, we were determined to pass them, regardless of how busy we were with other tasks. Although it has been a mammoth undertaking with a lot of hard work involved, we are delighted to announce that we passed our Stage 2 audit this week and as a result, BRS are now an ISO 9001 certified cleaning company.
ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognised quality management system standard. We achieved our certification with the British Assessment Bureau, who are UKAS accredited. Click here to read more about the British Assessment Bureau. Certification via a UKAS accredited provider is the highest version of ISO available, and the most challenging to obtain. Not only did we pass our audit, but we passed it with flying colours – with no major or minor non-conformances at all which is a fantastic achievement.
The standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and collaboration of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001 will enable BRS to ensure that our clients continue to receive a consistent and high quality service.
It is the standard required in order to work for Government institutions and contractors, and in recent months, we have seen it stipulated as a prerequisite in Pre-Qualification questionnaires for potential clients. As our business continues to grow, it made sense for us to take this next step in our journey. Click here to view a copy of our certificate.
Featured Domestic Deep cleaners in The Times Newspaper…
As seen in:
BRS and our director Hannah Uruci were featured in The Times newspaper last Saturday, in an article discussing how the rich and well-off have reacted to the COVID-19 lockdown. The article, entitled Too rich to cook? discusses how there has been an increased interest in and an increased demand for domestic Deep cleaning.
With the COVID-19 situation being the most trending topic in the world right now, people are turning their attention toward any effort they can make in hope of potentially reducing the spread of the virus. The importance of the role that cleaning can play is still not fully understood, but, the media is in general beginning to emphasise the need for clean work premises and for clean homes.
Our company over 7 years of experience and Deep cleaning is one of our most popular services which we have been doing right since the start. Clients requesting such cleans right now, are often uncertain of what they want and of what they need in order to safeguard their homes or work premises. As mentioned in The Times, we receive many requests from people saying “We only need to wipe the surfaces”. However, people are often unaware of the need for a full thorough deep clean, or ‘antiviral cleanse’ and of the difference that these services can make.
The article below from The Telegraph emphasises how pointless anti-bacterial-wipes are.
Typically at BRS we don’t consider ourselves to be Domestic cleaners necessarily, as this usually involves daily housekeeping duties and what we specialise in are the one-off, deep cleans. However, people are gradually beginning to realise that regular cleaning just isn’t enough and Deep cleaning is fast becoming the new norm.

Just a surface wipe is definitely not enough when it comes to deep cleaning especially during these challenging times.
It is very important, from the perspective of anybody pertaining to the cleaning industry, whether Domestic cleaners, Deep cleaners, specialist Builders cleaners, or anything similar, that the public are aware of what an actual Deep clean involves and what it really takes for a place to be deemed “clean’. At BRS we aim to be transparent in our service and communications, from the initial point of enquiry right through to the delivery of our service. We don’t make false promises, we do not promise to be able to completely eliminate any chance of contracting the Corona virus after booking one of our cleans, nor do we promise to make it magically disappear. What we offer is a thorough Deep clean, as per Governmental recommendation which we believe is one of the best things you can do to protect either your family at home, or any returning staff to the workplace.

Due to the recent virus outbreak, we are currently sticking to this same strategy for all of the cleans that we carry out during these times, ensuring that our staff are kept safe and safeguarding the site ready for other users/trades/staff, by further disinfecting it again on completion of our Deep cleaning works.
Our Coronavirus Deep cleaners have so far carried out a fantastic job leaving the site a safe environment for our Deep cleaners that are currently on site to continue the cleaning. Our cleaners are carrying out Deep cleaning to the following areas:
- All touch-point areas
- High level cleaning to the warehouse

Church Deep Cleaning, Wembley Park London
A BRS team of Deep cleaners are currently carrying out a deep clean of the English Martyrs RC Church located in Wembley Park, London. We have carried out an annual deep clean here since 2016 and we are really pleased that our client has trusted us again with the works, year after year. We hope that with our team’s hard work today, this will continue to be the case. It is also great to see that they have taken our advice of having a periodic Deep clean in order to maintain the premises and make future visits easier as by having an annual clean including high level and windows, the Church is able to stay looking its best and also remain hygienic which is even more important during the current Coronavirus crisis, for whenever the Church is able to re-open again to its worshippers.
The scope of works at this site included a general deep clean of the Church and an attached dwelling. Our operatives are carrying out a full clean from top to bottom, including high level cleaning – wiping of the ceilings and walls, dusting high level areas and wiping vents, lights, etc, window cleaning, cleaning any furniture such as benches, stands and chairs, all surfaces, skirting boards and flooring. Special attention is being paid to touchpoint areas such as door handles, taps, banisters, etc and high risk areas such as bathrooms, the kitchen and food prep areas.
Care Home Deep Clean, Tottenham, London
Our team of Care home deep cleaners have been trusted with a project aimed to assist the NHS with 36 extra rooms which will be used to accommodate people in need. Due to the recent virus outbreak, the need to accommodate people in need so the lock-down could be maintained has risen rapidly and it is our mission as cleaners to make sure we are doing our part.
A formerly abandoned care home, located in Tottenham, London is being completely transformed by our deep cleaners from a building which hasn’t been used for years, into a facility to assist the NHS, as advised by the Government, to accommodate people in need, in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus. The deep cleaning service involved an initial disinfection of all areas followed by a deep clean of all areas, including wiping and dusting to high-level areas, carpet cleaning, scrubbing hard flooring with the rotary machine, windows cleaning and a final wipe-down and sanitising of all areas, focusing on high risk areas and touch-points.
This project was given to BRS in an unbelievably bad condition due to the fact that the building hadn’t been used for such a long time which required more work to be done by our care home deep cleaners than initially expected, however our experienced supervisor and his team were able to achieve fantastic results and we are really proud of them. The “after” result was unbelievable to us and to the client, Kirkman & Jourdain Ltd who were amazed by what our deep cleaners achieved.
East Surrey Hospital
While our works are progressing well at The Grange Hospital, we have been contracted another hospital project, this time located in East Surrey for our client MTX contracts. We are proud to be trusted with another hospital project and to assist the NHS with the provision of additional hospital beds during these critical times. Our teams of Builders cleaners and Deep Cleaners are currently working hard racing against the clock, disinfecting, dusting, wiping, scrubbing and carrying out finishing touches ready for the doors to be opened for new Covid-19 patients.
We are really proud to be involved with such projects and on the role our industry is playing. The importance of cleaners as key workers has also been recognised by many political figures.Operating at the East Surrey Hospital requires well trained Builders Cleaning and Deep cleaning teams which are led by our professional supervisors equipped with the required PPE and approved NHS chemicals and disinfectants.
We are also assisting other clients in London and surrounding areas with temporary accommodation projects for the NHS, care homes and other similar environments. Our teams are therefore building up their expertise in this sector and becoming familiar with the high standards required.
We look forward to working with MTX on this project and on others in the future.
BRS working against the clock to assist NHS with 350 extra beds at The Grange Hospital, Wales
With the rapidly increasing severity of the current Coronavirus pandemic in the UK, the need for deep cleaning has raised and the NHS and the UK Government face increasing pressure to find extra beds for patients.
To help in part toward the provision of these vital extra beds, Government have instructed our client, Laing O’Rourke to hasten progress at their site, The Grange Hospital, in Cwmbran, Wales. Originally planned to receive its first patients in Spring 2021, a large part of the 55,000m2 hospital will now need to be ready and handed over in a matter of just a few weeks, with the end of April being cited as the final handover deadline.
An extra £10 million has been been approved by the Health minister to speed up the construction of specific sections which should result in the provision of an extra 350 beds.
Our team of specialist After Builders cleaners have been working at this site since summer 2019 when we first commenced our After Builders cleaning works on site. Our client, Laing O’Rourke, have requested that BRS significantly increase our labour on site and do whatever it takes to assist them with handing the specified areas over to the NHS on time. This is a matter of urgency and we are thus prioritising this project in order to play our part and do what we can. We are determined to work whatever extra hours are needed in order to help the UK Government with their mission of curing and assisting as many patients as possible and this cannot be done without the provision of extra beds.
Instead of just carrying out After Builders and Sparkle cleans to all areas of the hospital as is all that would be usually required of us at this stage, we are now going to be undertaking a thorough precautionary Coronavirus deep clean of all areas from top to bottom, ensuring that Government guidelines for deep cleaning in medical settings are followed and ensuring that all areas are thoroughly disinfected.
Fortunately, as well as specialising in After Builders cleaning for the construction industry, we pride ourselves in being ‘Responsive specialists’ and have also built up a wealth of experience in Reactive and Proactive Deep cleaning. We are now adapting to the current situation by focusing on our deep cleaning skills in order to deliver a high standard quality of service at such a critical time.
As a specialist deep cleaning company, it is our duty to do all that we can to help and our teams are working exceptionally hard, with a shared, ardent determination to get this project handed over on time, and with their usual passion to not only hand it over on time, but to ensure that it is delivered to the best standards yet. Just yesterday, cleaners were praised by Parliament as Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn paid tribute to the ‘extraordinary’ role of cleaners so far in their response to the Coronavirus crisis and indeed, we are immensely proud of our team. The British Cleaning Council have also stressed how cleaners are ‘Key workers’ as without their support, many vital functions would not be able to operate.
